The 32-year-old Austrian, who won both Friday’s super-giant slalom and Saturday’s downhill races here, was completing a sharp right turn midway down the Corviglia piste when the worker skied into her path.

After swerving to avoid a crash, Dorfmeister finished 0.83sec behind the first-leg leader, Anja Paerson of Sweden. Janica Kostelic, of Croatia, won the race in an aggregate time of 2min 15.74sec.
