Ski.com to acquire Lynx Vacations, Adventures on Skis, Sporttours, and other Ski Tour operators.

Aspen,CO (PRWEB) October 14, 2004 — Ski.com, an independent provider of skiing and snowboarding vacations, is acquiring winter vacation planning assets from East West Resorts, a management company. The transaction will make Ski.com, which was originally known as Aspen Ski Tours, the largest independent US seller of winter ski and snowboard vacations. According to CEO of Ski.com, Harry Peisach, the acquisition will allow Ski.com to “realize economies and take advantage of complementary product lines” and is a great addition to the Ski.com. Ski.com will acquire Lynx Ski and Golf Vacations, Adventures on Skis, Sportours, Any Mountain Tours and Go West Tours.

These assets will increase the Ski.com a reservation staff to 85 professionals and will expand the product line into Europe and South America. “It’s an exciting time with many changes in the industry” says Peisach, noting “There is a lot of synergy between Ski.com and the companies to be acquired — they have the same client-centric philosophy of catering to the client’s needs with personal service.” The companies to be acquired are operated by Jody Strauch, whose 19 years of experience in the business make her knowledge and abilities a valuable asset and who will stay on to help run the larger company.

“By acquiring these companies, we will provide added value to our clients by negotiated better deals on their behalf. “This is a very competitive environment,” Peisach and Strauch agree, noting “we need the buying power of the combined companies to continue to compete price-wise with the online travel companies.”
