Groms - Kids Skiing And snowboarding
Groms is a new school ski and snowboard film featuring thirty minutes of sick and twisted footage of freestyle riders ages nine to sixteen. The new school revolution is basically fancy words for goofing off in the mountains, and who is better at screwing around then kids? Freestyle is constantly reinventing itself and kids have always been at the forefront of this sport’s evolution. We have searched nationwide and you will not believe the exceptional talent we have discovered. These kids are not just hucking themselves off huge hits - their tricks are original and clean, with massive airtime. Groms features kids like twelve-year-old Shaun White (who’s too good to compete in his age group and must spar with the pros); C.R. Johnson, 15, king of new school throwing down 1440’s; 9 year old USASA Champs Roger Carver and Sammy Luebke in a huckfest. We’ll also see their mentors raging off huge hits in the park and in the backcountry. Rulers like Glen Plake hanging out and showing them how it’s done. This film is tight, with fast paced editing, hard-hitting music, and kick ass cinematography. Clean hard core fun in the mountains will be the theme of Groms. Expect to see a unique visual style of wild video montages with an art film flare. Groms 1999 was shot primarily on the West Coast of the US and Canada, due to the mild winter in the Rockies and Eastern United States. These productions are shot on 16-mm film, digital video and Betacam SP.
