You are developing a marketing plan for the Mt. Ashland Ski Area. You have historical data on lift ticket prices and total season attendance and are being asked to suggest pricing for the coming season. When you look at the data they don’t seem very helpful. In some years ticket prices went up and attendance went down, but in other years prices went up and attendance went up. This seems to contradict how demand curves are supposed to work. Using economic concepts explain how these data may not refute our understanding of demand curves.

Non-avalanche related snow immersion deaths - such as skiing into a tree well - are not something we should ignore even up at Bogus. Skiing down on Triangle you could see that the snow was starting to pile up and the tree wells were forming.
